UNDP describes the timbuktoo MineTech Hub in Zambia as a pan-African incubation initiative for startups working on mining-related challenges. This is an entrepreneurship programme for teams, not a job advertisement. The June 2026 announcement says applications were accepted on a rolling basis, but the current status and next cohort should be confirmed with the organisers.

Who was the programme designed for?

UNDP’s notice describes startups based in Africa or developing solutions for African mining markets. It mentions a working prototype or minimum viable product, a committed team and a clearly defined problem. It highlights youth-led and women-led teams. These were the published criteria for that call; check the current application requirements.

What kinds of problems?

The notice lists areas including mine safety, environmental monitoring and mineral traceability. A relevant idea might reduce a risk or improve access to information, but a concept alone should not be presented as a tested product. Describe honestly what has been built and what still needs validation.

Before submitting

Ask about the cohort schedule, selection stages, costs, location and ownership of your idea and data. UNDP describes incubation and mentoring; it does not promise funding or a job to every applicant. Use the application link on the current official notice and never pay someone who claims selection is guaranteed.
