How to check a TEVETA-registered training institution in Zambia
Use the regulator’s institution search and check the specific course before paying fees.

A training centre's name in an advert is not enough to establish that a particular programme is recognised. Zambia’s Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) provides an institution search and publishes lists of registered institutions. Use these as a starting point and confirm current details before enrolling.
Look for the right institution
Search by name, town, province or training level. Match the address and registration details, not just a similar name. TEVETA notes that recently submitted applications may take time to appear and that some filters may omit results. If a search returns nothing or looks incomplete, contact the authority instead of assuming an institution is approved or unapproved.
A published institution list includes institution names, registration numbers, levels and locations. It is a dated list, so ask TEVETA whether the registration is current. A provider’s registration does not automatically confirm approval of every course or guarantee an employer will accept every qualification.
Compare the actual course
Ask for the precise programme title, qualification and awarding body, intake date, entry requirements, training venue and expected assessment. Request a complete cost breakdown including tuition, examination, equipment, accommodation and transport if relevant. Confirm any claim of accreditation directly with the relevant authority.
If a course promises a job or placement, ask whether it is guaranteed or whether the school only helps graduates search. Keep receipts and use verified official payment details. A legitimate training fee is separate from paying a person who promises to secure a job.
Use your skills honestly
On a CV, name the institution and qualification accurately. If you are still studying or have not passed the assessment, say so. Keep a record of supervised tasks or class projects you may be able to discuss at interview without exposing private data.
