Using Zambia’s youth portal to find opportunities and training
A practical way to assess opportunities on the Ministry of Youth portal and follow each original application source.

Zambia’s Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts operates a youth portal that describes opportunities, skills development and resources. It can help you discover possible leads, but each opportunity needs its own verification: a portal card or old link does not mean an application is still open.
Start with your goal
Decide whether you need paid employment, a volunteer placement, skills training or support for a business. The portal describes these as different kinds of opportunities. A volunteer position may offer useful experience, but do not mistake it for a salaried vacancy. Read the organisation’s original listing for duties and terms.
Check the original opportunity
Open the application link and identify the organisation responsible for the programme. Look for the location, deadline, eligibility and whether the position is paid. Some links on the portal lead to UN Volunteers listings; check the relevant UNV page for that specific role instead of assuming every post is based in Zambia or still accepting applications.
Plan the practical costs
Ask about travel, data, tools, tuition and any allowance before committing. If a training provider says a course is accredited, verify its current status with the relevant authority. Do not pay an intermediary who offers a guaranteed place or share identity documents through an unverified contact.
Keep a list of the applications you actually submit. Record the employer or provider, official link, closing date and next step. Update it when you receive a response, and remove personal data before showing the list to a mentor.
