Job application tracker: keep your Zambian applications and closing dates in one place

Write down each job you apply for, with its closing date and when to follow up. It keeps your list in this browser, and you can save it as a file.

This tool runs only in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. No signup. Your work stays in this browser until you delete it.

Add the jobs you apply for and set a follow-up date. What needs chasing shows here.

Closing dates are easy to miss. In our catalogue on 1 November 2026, 12 of the 105 adverts for jobs in Zambia were due to close within a week, and 83 stated no closing date. For those 83 it's worth writing down the day you found the advert and applying soon.

What should I record for each job?

Keep the job title, employer, closing date, the day you applied and a follow-up date. Add the reference number and where you saw it. When someone calls you back three weeks later, you'll know which job it is before you answer.

When should I follow up?

Pick a date a little after the closing date. If an advert has no closing date, try about two weeks after you applied. That's our suggestion, not a rule. Send one polite message and quote the job title. The tracker lists follow-ups that are due at the top.

Where is my list kept?

Only in this browser, on this device. If you clear your browser data, it goes too, so save a CSV file now and then. You can open it in Excel or Google Sheets.

Questions people ask

Can I use it on my phone and my laptop?

They'd be two separate lists, because nothing is sent to a server. Use the one device you carry most, or save the CSV and keep it where you can reach it.

Should I apply to the same job twice?

Usually no, and sometimes it counts against you. The last teacher advert said applying to more than one district leads to disqualification. Read the advert and keep to one application unless it says otherwise.
