CV checker for Zambian jobs: does your CV use the words in the advert?

Paste your CV and the advert. You'll see the main words you've used and the ones you've missed, so you can fix your CV before you apply.

This tool runs only in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. No signup.

Paste both texts to see which words from the advert your CV has and which it doesn't.

Say an advert for a store clerk asks for stock counts, GRN processing and Grade 12. If your CV says you looked after the stores, this tool shows stock counts and GRN as missing. If you've done that work, use the same words. If you haven't, leave them out.

Does this check whether I'll get the job?

No. There's no score out of 100 on purpose, because nobody outside the employer can predict that. It only compares words. A person still decides, and you can have every word and still not fit, or miss a few and be the best candidate.

What should I do with the missing words?

Go through them one at a time. Add a word only if it's true, and put it inside a real line about what you did. Write the licence, ticket or council registration the advert names exactly as it does, such as EIZ or ZICA. Never add a qualification you don't have: employers can check it, and ZAQA verifies qualifications.

Is my CV saved anywhere?

No. This page keeps nothing. What you paste stays on the page until you close it, and it isn't sent to us or anyone else. The word check runs on your phone or computer.

Questions people ask

What is an ATS CV?

An ATS is software some employers use to store and search applications. A plain one column CV with normal headings is the safest format, and it's what our CV builder makes.

Does it work with a very short advert?

It works better with the full advert. If you only have a short notice, look for the full one on the employer's own site before you apply.
